Georgia football TV schedule 2024: How to watch, stream games live for free (2024)

Dreams of a three-peat national championship came crashing down as Georgia watched rival Alabama sneak into the playoff after a SEC championship loss last season. Redemption, and a return to the top of the mountain in college football begins now for the Bulldogs.

At the helm of Georgia since 2016, head coach Kirby Smart boasts a 94-16 record, two straight national championships (2021, 2022) and six SEC East division titles. The elevation of the Bulldogs program has instituted a changing of the guard in the SEC. Last year’s late slip brought back familiar wounds.

Georgia football games will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN+ and SEC Network+. If you’d rather catch the action live, tickets are on sale for all Georgia football home and away games for the 2024 season.

Ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25 preseason poll, a household name resides between the hedges. The recruiting behemoth has strengthened their standing over the years. Despite last year’s sour end, Georgia has made the case to be called the gold standard of NCAA football. The Bulldogs have won 46 of their last 48 games.

They will get a chance to solidify that stature with a rematch against the Tide in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 28. Also, SEC newcomer Texas hosts Georgia on Oct. 19.

How can I watch Georgia football for free?

A glimpse at the 2024 Georgia Bulldogs

After a stellar 2023 season in which he compiled 24 touchdowns and 3,941 yards with just six interceptions, senior quarterback Carson Beck figures to again be the guy for the Georgia Bulldogs. Redshirt sophom*ore Gunner Stockton enters into a proving period. That starts with securing the backup quarterback position and being on standby throughout the season.

Redshirt freshman Jaden Rashada and freshman Ryan Puglisi enter the mix for the first time at Georgia. He will be pivotal for them to get their footing in the offensive playbook as they build for next year.

A running back room with storied tradition will look to the next big star in junior Trevor Etienne. The excitement is there, but the Bulldogs will have a bevy of options as they jockey for position in the backfield.

Etienne will likely split carries with redshirt freshman Roderick Robinson, who dazzled in spring showings and looks to be on his way to securing chunks of playing time. Sophom*ore Branson Robinson’s health remains a concern with continued recovery from a torn patella tendon that he suffered last August. His position in the pecking order will shift as his health increases.

That question mark leaves the door open for a flurry of freshman eager to begin their legacy between the hedges. Chauncey Bowens, Nate Frazier and Dwight Phillips Jr. will all be looking to make the most of their playing time, whenever it arrives.

The Bulldogs offense averaged 40.1 points per game (5th in the nation), 496.5 yards/game and 71 touchdowns last year.

The defense returns a stacked core, including several veterans up front. It also reveals riveting camp battles. Last year’s group led the SEC in interceptions with 14 and held its opposition to 15.3 points per game, which ranked fifth in the nation.

Returning senior Nazir Stackhouse will hold down the reins at nose tackle. Sophom*ore Jamaal Jarrett is a potent second option.

Defensive tackle Warren Brinson was a force last season. Sophom*ore Jordan Hall figures to get plenty of run as a swap option. The freshmen bunch of Jordan Thomas, Nasir Johnson, Justin Green and Nnamdi Ogboko will likely see their opportunities begin in lopsided garbage time.

Junior defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins worked his way through a foot injury last year, ultimately having surgery which forced him out of spring practice. He’ll hold down the top spot while Christen Miller waits in the wings. The name to watch here is redshirt freshman hybrid Xavier McLeod, who dominated with a pair of sacks in the spring game.

The linebacker room looks a little different as junior Mykel Williams has made the jump from defensive end. Expect Williams to still get his fair share inside while improving the Bulldogs’ pass rush. Chaz Chambliss started in the spring game and is expected to notch a starting spot opening night against Clemson.

After starting five games as a true freshman, and recording 40 tackles, expect C.J. Allen to get the start at inside linebacker. He had five solo tackles and a pick in the spring game. Don’t forget about menacing pass rusher Jalon Walker, who seems destined to find a starting role.

Top inside linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. missed the spring with a foot injury and is also dealing with off the field issues resulting in an arrest. Sophom*ore Raylen Wilson recorded eight tackles in the spring game, a statement for more playing time. He saw some run last year after the injury to Jamon Dumas-Johnson.

Junior cornerback Daylen Everette holds down the top cornerback spot along with Joenel Aguero. Sophom*ore Julian Humphrey is battling sophom*ore Daniel Harris for another starting role. Freshman Ellis Robinson IV is expected to earn snaps.

There is a gaping hole at safety as Malaki Starks, an expected preseason All-American, missed the spring game after undergoing shoulder surgery. sophom*ore transfer from Alabama Jake Pope is expected to take that spot if Starks is unable to play.

Expect senior Dan Jackson, junior JaCorey Thomas or senior David Daniel-Sisavanh to find a way into the lineup as well. Five-star sensation KJ Bolden is the name to watch in this position group.

Even with the dismissal of Rara Thomas, the receiving core is in great shape with transfer senior Colbie Young, along with seniors Dominic Lovett and Arian Smith. Junior Dillon Bell, sophom*ore Anthony Evans are both expected to have a heavy impact. The Bulldogs may possess one of the shiftiest and deepest receiver rooms in the country.

Let’s not forget about junior tight end Oscar Delp, who is clearly TE1. Sophom*ore Lawson Lucky and senior Benjamin Yurosek provide a nice backup punch as well. They’ve been battling in camp and figure to get multiple looks throughout the year. The group is rounded out with a pair of freshmen in Jaden Reddell and Colton Heinrich.

The offensive line will be a versatile group, with multiple shifts in lineups expected. As for expected starters, redshirt sophom*ore Earnest Greene holds down the left tackle position while Dylan Fairchild and Micah Morris are neck-and-neck at left guard. Junior Jared Wilson has a hold on center.

On the other side, veteran leadership is on display as senior Tate Ratledge returns at right guard, alongside senior right tackle Xavier Truss. Georgia is young in their tackle and guard depth, but sophom*ore right tackle Monroe Freeling and freshman left tackle Jamal Meriweather may get more than a few opportunities to shine.

Stable and consistent play is expected from the special teams, which welcomes back several key players, including senior punter Brett Thorson. Sophom*ore kicker Peyton Woodring will return after finding his groove last season. He connected on 21 of 25 field goal attempts and ranked third in the country in total points scored with 134. The return game could see a boost with the blistering skills of sophom*ore Anthony Evans III.
